  • LOCAL: has lived in North Somerset for 15 years and currently lives in Long Ashton with his wife and family.
  • WORK: Ash works as a Chartered Accountant for small to medium sized businesses. 
  • ELECTED: Was elected as a North Somerset Councillor in 2019, then re-elected in 2023. He was the Lib Dem candidate for North Somerset in the 2019 general election, increasing the Lib Dem vote by 80%. 

 

 

Ash was raised in Somerset and currently lives in Long Ashton with his wife and family. He has lived in North Somerset for over 15 years and has no plan to live anywhere else. 

After leaving University Ash trained as a Chartered Accountant in London before moving to Bristol. He subsequently had his own business but presently works for a technology and media company. Over the past 5 years he also spent a year working as a painter and decorator, as well as spending a couple of months working for a supermarket in Portishead. 

Ash was elected to North Somerset Council in 2019 to represent his local community, from 2019-2023 he was also the cabinet member for finance. In 2023 Ash was re-elected with an increased majority, over half of all residents voted for him. 

Ash was the Liberal Democrat candidate for North Somerset in the 2019 general election. He increased the the Liberal Democrat vote by 80%, one of the largest swings in the West Country.

He is fed up with 'safe seat' Tories like Liam Fox taking us for granted, and fed up with the petty politcs of the two main politcal parties.The Conservatives can't change and Labour won't work. It's time for change. That's why he's standing again to be your MP.
